He admitted it so he could become more popular with the people watching and to get more sponsors for him and Katniss. . But I don't think he is telling the truth and  Haymitch told him to say something like that.Which will probably get her more mad at Haymitch.

My Tribute Trials Results

On the Tribute Trials questionnaire I scored a percentage of 93. I think that if I took my time on some  questions, I would have had a higher score. Some of the questions were tricky, I probably got confused on some  questions.

Chapter Questions for Chapters 5, 6, and 7

Chapter 5
1. The presentation of the tributes seems to be greatly focused on visual presentation and looks — what does this reveal about the belief systems of the Capitol?
The beliefs of the capitols are to have beauty and to be very presentable to the capitols visitors. The Capitol probably wants to impress the tributes and the viewers that watch the Hunger Games on their television set either in their home or in the city or wherever you can possibly imagine their would be a TV.
2. Compare and contrast life in the Capitol to life in District 12.
The capitols citizens have good fashion. they probably get to take baths whenever they please or whenever they need to. District twelve is different, I think since they don't have a lot of electricity only off and on, they probably don't have water like we do with the DWP.
3. What does Cinna ask Katniss and Peeta to do just before they ride out in their chariot? What is the purpose of this gesture?
Cinna asks Katniss and Peeta to be proud and to keep your heads up and to smile. When the music starts playing for them while they exit their chariot, he yells gestures and Katniss ask Peeta "What's he saying?" and Peeta said "I think he said for us to hold hands," so they do and Cinna approves.
4. Why is it so hard for Katniss to trust Peeta's kindness?
It is hard for Katniss to trust Peeta because Peeta could get the chance to kill Katniss. He is probably to nice to Katniss. Maybe Peeta could try to get inside of her head and try to confuse her by getting her to like him so she will be a weak target and easy for him to take her out.

3. What reasons would Peeta have for being curious about Gale?
To me, Katniss and Gale are best buds. They hunt so much that they probably make a good team. They Hang out pretty often so thats why they are proubably best buds and Peeta is jealous.

The Interesting Facts about War
How would you be if your father went to war? How feel or react when you find out that he has Vietnam Syndrome? In the fictional short story ‘Stop the Sun” by Gary Paulsen, we are introduced to a young adult named Terry, whose father went to the Vietnam War and he was severely traumatized. Throughout the story Terry will change emotionally, when he and his father talk about the war. The text is sad because we see how war changes how a family is. It changes how they act and how they feel.
When people go to war, it can be traumatizing for them and their loved ones. When people witness something bad or see something bad they can get diseases and they can also be traumatized. When Terry’s father saw his fellow soldier get ambushed and die, he became traumatized.  For example, when Terry’s dad saw people blow up and get shot at and died, he became severely traumatized because he was the only survivor. This is what Terry’s Mom explained to Terry “It’s from the war,” his mother had said. “The doctors at the veterans’ hospital call it the Vietnam syndrome.” (Paulsen 50). People with illnesses have different personalities and attitudes. When Terry’s dad is in the hardware store, he goes into a traumatic flashback and he is crying and squirming on the floor. They Experience bad things and are sometimes misunderstood. After Terry’s dad squirms, Terry and his mom move away from him because they don’t understand what he is going through. War is traumatizing for many, who make it back alive.
War is a painful and a devastating thing and some people don’t make it back the same. When people go to war they can get injured, both physically and mentally. For example, Terry’s dad came back to war traumatized with the Vietnam Syndrome. Here is a quote to explain what Terry is wondering, “ What do you want to know about Vietnam, Terry?” Mr. Carlson had asked. “It was a big war.” (50) People go to war, when they come back they can lose a limb. A lot of soldiers go to war, when they come back they wear prostatic limbs. When they go to war, they lose their fellow comrades. For example Terry’s dad saw his fellow soldiers get ambushed and attacked. War is painful to many who have experienced something bad.
Many soldiers don’t come back from War, we called those people who don’t come back loved ones. Many soldiers die in war known as a hero or just as a friend. Many of Terry’s dad’s friends died in the war when they got ambushed. Many people go to war, come back different mentally. Terry’s dad fought, came back very different with some traumatic disease called the Vietnam Syndrome. People die in war by the thousands each year. During many wars, thousands of people die each several months or each year in the thousands, that ends up being in the millions. War is very bad because many people die. Here is what Terry’s dad explained what had happened, “So we were crossing the paddy, and it was a straight sweep, and then we caught it. We began taking fire from three sides, automatic weapons, and everybody went down and tried to get low. We couldn’t get low enough. We could never get low enough, and you hear rounds hitting people. It was just a short time before they brought in the mortars.” (53)
Many soldiers who went to war with Vietnam, they came back severely injured of traumatized. The short story “Stop the Sun” is a fictional short story written by Gary Paulsen. By reading this story, we learn how war changes a family. By reading this story, we find out about the Vietnam War and the Vietnam Syndrome and how war can be very traumatizing.

Chapter 2
1. How does Katniss save her sister from the reaping?
Katniss saves Prim by volunteering as a tribute. She doesn't want her twelve year old sister to be in the Hunger Games because she was chosen out if thousands. People were also dissatisfied with that because Prim would have been one of the youngest people in the Hunger Games.
2. Who is the boy tribute selected? How did he save Katniss life when she was 11?
The boy tribute selected was Peeta Mellark. Peeta is the Baker's son. He saved Katniss' life when she was 11 because, she and her family were starving. She wanted May to come so she can enter for tesserae. Then she could get her precious grain and oil. Peeta gave Katniss two loaves of burned bread.
3. What kind of person do you think Peeta is? What evidence from the book led you to come to this conclusion?
I think Peeta would be a good partner in the Hunger Games because he was nice to Katniss. He was yelled at and probably beaten just for giving Katniss the loaves of bread.
4. Why does seeing the dandelion after her father's death give Katniss hope?
The dandelion that Katniss saw gave her hope because it reminded her of her father. That specific  dandelion was the first dandelion of the year. She means that if he keeps treating her nice she's gonna have a hard time fighting him. But if he acts mean to him she's not really going to care. So it would be easier for her that Peeta would act mean.

Chapter One Questions For "The Hunger Games"

Chapter 1

1) Describe District 12.
District twelve is a place that has a poor side of town and a rich part of town. District twelve involves a lot of trade in the market area. The people who live in district twelve get food rations. District twelve is nicknamed the Seam. People try to hunt outside of the electric fence so they can either sell or trade it to the people in the market.
2) What illegal activities does Katniss participate of in doing? Why does she need to do this?
Katniss is a girl who has to support her mother and her younger sister. In the Seam, it is illegal to hunt in the district or even outside the electrical fence. When she goes out hunting, another man named Gale is also hunting and they talk and try to get food for there families. They have to hunt because of food rations. They either take it to there families or sale it or trade it at the market.
3) Describe the relationship between Gale and Katniss. Do you have a relationship like this in your own life? Explain.
The relationship between Gale and Katniss is weird because Gale is older than Katniss. Every time Katniss goes outside the fence hunting, Gale is always there. I think that Gale and Katniss would make a great    hunting group because of there individual skills. I don't have a relationship like there's in my life. I am not a great hunter.
4) How is Madge different from Katniss and Gale?
Madge is the mayor's daughter. She is considered as rich I guess. On the reaping day, she is dressed very proper and is nice to Gale. Gale tries to flurt with her but, I think she likes people from her side of town. She probably doesn't have to worry about the reaping because she isn't poor and probably is well respected.
5) What is the reaping? Do you think this practice is fair? Explain.
The reaping is the selection of who is going to be in the Hunger Games. It is an annual tradition. Most of the older people have to a lot of times just because they are older. It is for most of the people eighteen and under. The people that are selected are in the Hunger Games.
6) Who is selected in the reaping?
Primrose Everdeen was the girl that was selected in the reaping.
